The influence of Tron Legacy has reached far beyond the screen alone, having gained a wider part in modern culture in both design and style. Designer Loris Bottello has taken inspiration from the film to the new “Ring” Tron Lamp, a circle of light in the form of the Tron disc. A copper conductor carries energy around the ring’s perimeter, lighting a pair of bioluminescent polymers. Rotate the disc to increase, decrease or shut off the light as needed. It might be a bit too modern for most homes, but fans of the Tron Legacy film can certainly find room for it. [ loris bottello via designboom ]
